Drafty Outlets

You’ve probably never given it much thought, but outlets located on your exterior walls can actually let in a fair amount of cold air because when they are installed, the insulation has to be cut out for the box. Depending on how many exterior wall outlets you may have, a lot of little holes can equal lots of little cold drafts! Each outlet will take you less than 2 minutes to solve this simple problem. See below for your steps!

Time | 2-3 minutes per outlet

Steps

  1. Remove outlet cover

  2. If using foam pads, simply insert behind cover and replace cover.

  3. If using backer rod, snugly fit on each side; cut lengthwise if too wide. Replace cover.
