Drab to Fab!
My beautiful new vanity from Wayfair was delivered which included a gorgeous granite countertop and classic brushed nickel knobs. The knobs were fine, but they weren’t fabulous. I kind of hate the word fine. How was lunch? Fine. How are you? Fine. How was your day? Fine. So, what’s a girl to do? Well, stumble on to some fabulous crystal knobs at TJ Maxx for $6, of course! I say it all the time, but the devil really is in the details and the little extra touches make a huge impact. So, let’s get busy and switch our vanity knobs to go from drab to fab!
Investment
Money | $6 find at TJ Maxx. Typically can run $1-3 each.
Time | 20 minutes
Supplies*
Knobs of choice
Possibly extra washers and screws.
Screwdriver: my favorite all-in-one or compact drill.
Steps
Open drawer/cabinet and secure back of screw by holding screwdriver steady while you unscrew the knob.
Keep old screw in place and try new knob on it. Often, the “thread” of the screws are the same and you may not even have to replace the old screws.
If you have a “loose knob” try adding a washer or two on inside of the drawer to essentially lengthen the screw to prevent it from spinning. See my video below for more tips & how to’s.
